Tonight my daughter ran a few eggs over to our neighbor, who had to shoo a moose off of the road to get her back safely.
I ran back and forth between our town’s rotary health fair and our town’s Nutcracker rehearsal all day, one held in the high school gym and the other in the theater. Then we came home and giggled a little and watched the Hornets almost beat the Nets.
I took my family to see Beauty & the Beast tonight, and sat in awe and wonder once again at our local theater community. I told Chris I’d audition if we ever did Fiddler on the Roof, but he asked the mayor and it turns out we already did it a few years back. Did I mention the mayor produces the Nutcracker ballet and many of the plays and musicals? I. Love. This. Town.
A day of firsts…
Snowflakes fell on our home in the morning, heralding of winter’s approach.
Flu season made its debut with an inaugural community case diagnosed in the emergency room.
My daughters secured library cards, checking out books only to devour their haul on the way home.
Mom and Dad went for a walk before bed and made out in the rain (and under the house).
Most certainly do not recommend food poisoning. I got my first taste (oops) last night and paid a dear price.
Most certainly do recommend, however, IV hydration therapy. I am privileged to both know a gal and have the funds to cover it. I bounced back enough for church, and even managed to teach a few new hospice volunteers in the afternoon.
I have since returned to the couch with a significant amount of fatigue and newfound appreciation for the Meyers Cocktail. This town is small but mighty. And that crab chowder was good.
There might be something more magical than leaving the college on Fridays, and walking up the street in the crisp fall air just in time to watch my girls file into the dance studio for Nutcracker rehearsal in their black leotards and pink tights. There might be. I just doubt it,
Got some disappointing news today, but it ended with a sunset drive to the beach and that canceled most of it out.
