We hiked somewhere around eight miles today, followed by a three-hour drive home with pizza and This American Life. There are days like these when everyone mostly gets along, blisters and all, and I grind the words “get after grateful” down deeply down into my bones for the next hard day.
We said hello to Seward, Alaska today. She was a delight.
On these last days of June, we celebrate lupine’s farewell and fireweed’s greeting. We drive to visit a new town and see what we can see. We settle into summer and soak up each day of sixty-five degree sunshine. We love Alaska a little bit more.
