You know those friends who stick it out? The ones who stay put through the trips and the phone calls and the silence when it comes. The ones who always show up to help you move. The ones who wait to meet your babies when they’re born. The ones who forgive you for canceling on an event even though you haven’t seen them in weeks.

I’ve got friends like that. And although the last few years have made it more difficult for all of us to get together on a regular basis, I’m thankful for the times we do get face to face. Two of those friends texted me last week, about getting together at a local pumpkin patch. I was sick and exhausted and stressed and behind on meal planning, so I said yes. And it was worth it. I also said I’d probably never blog about a trip to the pumpkin patch, and I was wrong.
