we’re still here!

I know things have been quiet around here. I’m trying to learn how to balance everything in my life and sometimes, everything just doesn’t fit. I don’t want to write if I don’t have content. And I don’t even know where my camera is right now. This has never been and will most likely never be a daily blog. And that’s okay, right?

The big boys are enjoying a vacation in Florida with their mom. We miss them something fierce, but we’ve gotten a few photos and they’re having a blast. Lucas starts football practice as soon as he returns. He’s decided to go out for the middle school team, and we couldn’t be prouder! Avery got his teacher assignment this week, and I can’t wait to share the exciting news with him. This will be his second year back after a long break, and he has absolutely blossomed. And the shopping. Oh, the shopping. They’re probably growing out of their shoes as we speak.

Chris & I are both busy with work, and we’re struggling (but managing) to carve out time for each other. The Olympics have brought a fun energy into the house, and I finally got around to painting the chairs! August in the Carolinas can get pretty hot. We only stay outside for a little bit at a time, but we’ve made progress with the sisters’ aversion to water!
